Highest UK Chart position: 50 (March 2 1985)
This particular tune holds some resonance with me as the debut Matt Bianco LP ‘Whose Side Are You On’ was an album that a particular girlfriend at the time used to play during my visits. Her version of the album had a different version of this track than I was familiar with a slower intro.
As it was we broke up amicably and this song never fails to remind me of the laughs we shared.
I was so familiar with this track that like so many others I assumed it was a massive hit, when in fact it didn’t actually make it into the top 40, stalling at 50. I guess this album must have played a lot at her gaff.
Surprised at this I checked out the other Matt Bianco singles I knew (and may just have bought at the time) from the album and was equally surprised at their chart ranking. Of the five released only Get Out Of Your Lazy Bed cracked the top 20. Unexpected
