13 × 13 — The Project
Every four weeks throughout 2026, I’ll be releasing a new Thirteen Songs playlist — thirteen tracks that capture the mood of the moment. Across the year, that adds up to thirteen playlists, all available on Spotify. Where official videos exist, I’ll include them too, so you can listen, watch, and follow the project as it unfolds.
This playlist began as a simple idea – thirteen songs to start the year – but as soon as I started writing, it became something much more personal. These tracks aren’t just favourites; they’re markers along the road. Some came from childhood, played on family stereos or introduced by the people who shaped my earliest tastes. Others arrived through friends, late‑night conversations, road trips, gigs, and the kind of musical evangelism that only happens when someone presses a song into your hands because they need you to hear it. A few came from my own wandering curiosity, the moment I realised music didn’t have to fit the pop mould and that the alternative could feel like home.
Together, these thirteen songs form a loose autobiography – not in strict chronology, but in emotional landmarks. They’re the artists who stayed with me, the ones who surprised me, the ones who helped me through difficult moments, and the ones who connected me more deeply to the people I care about.
